Yes, I’m a citizen

Yesterday I exercised one of my rights and duties as an American citizen  — I voted.  In fact, I got a little more serious about it and actually worked the election.  Yes, I was one of the little old ladies who walked you to a voting booth and handed you an “I voted” sticker when you were done.  I could feel good both by doing my civic duty and doing something useful again (i.e., I had a job, even if it was just for a day).

Vote whenever you have a chance.  More importantly, vote intelligently and responsibly.  Research your choices.  Vote your conscience.  Think about how lucky you are to have this opportunity.  Remember, if you don’t vote, you have no right to complain.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.
